Saturday Post

Saturday Post
I have intentionally not written for quite some time about our Covid pandemic or vaccinations but,
It’s Saturday Post
And I have two family members (not vaccinated), in the hospital with Covid; it truly saddens me.
Yes, I am vaccinated, yes, I still go out and once again with my mask.
This remains a dynamic and changing time and no one has all the answers; so, we need to be understanding about the uncertainty people feel, when they refuse to get vaccinated. And at the same time, we need to remind people COVID is not over, and if you’re vaccinated, you’re clearly in a better place than if you’re not.
One of the things about COVID vaccines, which is very different from childhood vaccines, is that it matters to everybody, it’s not just about you. We’ve got to do this together.
We all continue to try to do what we believe and feel is best, usually based on our values and often emotions. And much of the decision-making process may come through filters of prior experiences and that may be very personal or more general, such as the lived-experience of groups one belongs to.
For me, there are so many more reasons ‘why’ to get the vaccine than ‘why not’.
I will admit when the pandemic first started, I had fear. And I don’t now.
Oh, I believe just because  I am vaccinated doesn’t mean I can throw caution to the wind. I will continue to take precautions as I live life and enjoy my routines. I just have added some additional routines like; washing my hands more frequently, using disinfecting wipes when out in public and never leaving home without a mask.
C’mon, these are not difficult.
‘Life is under no obligation to gives us what we expect’.
‘You don’t have the right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt, you are Obligated to play the hell out of the ones you’re holding.
And for me that is being vaccinated, wearing a mask and practicing social distance.
And I also believe people will continue to lead unhealthy life styles that creates horrible self-inflicted pain, and that saddens me.
