Friday Fika

Friday Fika

Yep, life is good!
After a day of food, family and football yesterday, this Friday has brought a day observing life and all things surrounding me.
It’s magical to wake up to a chilly morning, Christmas tree lights sparkling and my little Riley sleeping by the tree.
Hey, you know that Thanksgiving day calories don’t count, and that counts for today too. It’s a ‘eat and repeat’ kind of day. And, when the Dallas Cowboys win the game …… told ya …… life is good!

You know that feeling when the trajectory of life is in alignment.
As a young girl I never imagined myself as an over 65 (eeek) women and yet it feels right. Life is definitely a movement in faith and culture. All the ups and downs are what molds me. I always look forward and yet I know the past provides guidance and wisdom to my future.
This time of year always is like an explosion of love, peace and quiet moments. It’s the time to reflect on the faithfulness of God.

Just like our human bodies are vessels, our homes are our vessels where we rest, nourish and feed our souls.
I am a homebody and proud of it.
It’s funny how Riley and I have the same rhythm.
He is fierce and independent where Solitude is cherished. Our home is comfortable, calm and not surrounded by people.
My circle of friends is small and yet the connection we maintain is life lasting, for sure. And family time is important. Some of my fondest memories are with my family. Never to be forgotten.
But Home is not just a place, it’s a feeling!
Friday Fika!

Dear God, Thank you for filling our home with love, hope and faith. Amen.
