The Eddie Report

The Eddie Report

Eddie is 11 weeks old this week. And yes he is one smart little Scottie!
It’s so much fun watching him experience all new things. He likes the same movies and music and today the music was playing a little louder and after one dance he wanted another!
He gets me!
Plus, he barely weighs anything. In time, one dance will be all this ol’ girl can handle.
He understands certain words and his favorite is ‘Eat’. All I have to ask him is if he wants to eat and then the hippity hoppity of joy comes out of him.
We have our certain favorite games we like to play. Today was the first day I filled up his Kong with a little peanut butter. Nothing left after growling at it a few times. Good Boy!
The bell ringing is going so well.
I have tried to keep it for potty breaks only and we go outside for playtime separately.
I can definitely see him growing. Next week is another round of vaccinations and hopefully after that he can go visit his buddy, Brewster, for some play time. And since he hasn’t seen any other dogs, it will be fun to see how he reacts.
My days are filled with playtime and we watch plenty of movies. Of course I never get to watch a movie from start to finish without a few potty or play breaks but I am loving it.
We have had a few visitors ringing the doorbell and he doesn’t bark but runs towards the front door waiting for me to open it. He stays put while watching me as I go out the front door and I always tell him how good he is just sitting there waiting.
His nose prints are on the doors and thats okay. That’s what windex is for!  I’ve been telling him not to jump up on the doors and it seems to work, so far.
The memory of constant repeating my commands has all come back. And trust me, even I am tired of hearing the word ‘no’, but it works.
There is already a certain independent personality that is showing up. On occasion (not enough), I am able to put him on my lap when he is napping and I get a few minutes of shut eye but lately he prefers to sleep alone. So my naps are not happening as much.
He is growing and loves to stretch out …… I get it!
I can sit, read or write and watch him sleep.
Be still my heart.
The occasional noises of delivery trucks and the likes still wakes him up but his head falls returning him back to nap time.
So much joy fills my heart as I watch Eddie grow.
As Eddie and I continue to establish our daily routines and summertime is about to kick in, I am reminded how important it is to be grateful for this life and cherish all moments.
Thank you, my Lord!

Good movie!
