The Eddie Watch, Day 2

The Eddie Watch, Day 2
Eddie is healing and doing so well. I must say that his prescription has definitely ‘chilled’ him. The little stinker still jumps on the sofa sometimes, so I have to keep a close watch on him.
And his incision is healing. It’s still pretty swollen but the redness has definitely calmed down.
The plastic catheter that he ate at the Vets is coming out. Which is good but holy moly, how much will there be! The good news is the mixture of can food with his dry kibbles seems to have no negative effects. Although I don’t want him to gain too much weight, I might just keep up mixing the two. He really likes it and it’s just a spoonful and gives him some added protein and texture.

Carrying him up and down the stairs is not bad at all. (Heck, my case of water is heavier than he is and I manage that up the stairs). He isn’t too squirmy as I tell him to hold still. He is still not a big fan of the onesie but it definitely works! Once it’s on, he doesn’t seem to care. He is so well behaved; he will stay and wait until I have it back on him and will not try to climb the stairs. I do think these ‘chill’ pills have indeed made the difference.
He did bark to wake me up this morning and we had our first walk in the quiet and somewhat still darkened morning.
A nice walk is really a great way to wake up. The full moon is shrinking some but still look large this morning. I can see the moon at night from our balcony and I just love it.
If you know anything about me, then you know I am a lover of watching the moon at nite. It’s magnificent and awe inspiring. I will never forget things my momma would tell me under the full moon skies as a little girl. Even as an adult, I would look up at the full moon with her as our prayers were sent up up up!

After we settled in this morning, hot coffee for me and Eddie’s breakfast for him , the music and candle lights were on. And as usual, after my first cup I made breakfast for me. I don’t usually buy bacon to cook at home. Oh I enjoy ordering it at restaurants when we go out for breakfast but I recently bought a small packet. Yep, today was egg whites, bacon, sliced apple and toast.
I told myself, don’t get too use to it. It was indeed yummy though.
I feel like I need to change up my repertoire of recipes, anyway.
New home, new year, new beginnings and new recipes!
I got rid of my Kcup coffee maker and now brew fresh grounds only. Wow, I forgot what I was missing! Sure Kcups may be a quicker way to get a cup of coffee but there is no mistaken the quality cannot be compared to fresh brew. Takes me back to my days of working, and like many, every morning was a quick drive through Starbucks for my Latte and oatmeal.
Well that feeling is back except I am enjoying the fresh brew in my own living room.
Ahhhhhhhhhh
Oops, I digress again ……
Back to Eddie Watch, Day 2 ……Ha!
Last summer, this little Scottie had me at ‘Hello’.
I remember the video of him running outside with his mouth wide open. Eddie is an Aries. Aries energy is idealistic, bold and brave. Well that is Eddie. He doesn’t shy away from anything or anyone. (Well, Vincent kinda scared him a bit), lol.
He is getting use to some ppl as we take our walks but I really don’t mind that he barks at strangers. It’s his instinct and protective posture. Ain’t nothing wrong with it.

So my breakfast is over, and after a bit it’s time for our 2nd longer walk. The sun is shining once again, yippee! The ducks still have not landed in the pond and we were the only ones out. It’s a magnificent day.
Once back inside, I place Eddie on the sofa next to me and he is soon in slumberville. I will finish my coffee as the music plays and give him time to sleep.
I don’t recall getting any thing for Riley after his surgery but then again, Riley had a ‘chill’ personality even as a puppy. Oh he had his puppy quirks and was stubborn as heck but was not as active as Eddie.
I love that Eddie is resting which is so needed for proper healing.
And I am so grateful that we are having some warmer days before the next cold blast arrives. Of course it will make it feel even colder once it gets here but by then Eddie will have almost of week of recovery time. The timing for his surgery was perfect.

I can literally sit here for hours and just stare at Eddie as he sleeps.
But today, I will be doing a little bit of house cleaning. I will put Eddie in his crate and he will probably continue to sleep.
What a wonderful feeling when I can’t stop smiling. It’s the best OTTD!
I see the best in me, because He sees the best in me!
I know I am ‘Seen’.
And so are you!
That’s the ever giving grace of Jesus.

I will continue to pray for you and all the ppl affected by the LA fires. It’s truly a horrible event. Having lived in LA at one time, I can’t believe all the devastation that has happened to the city.
May their faith continue to give them strength.
Namasté.
