Hello y’all!

Oh yeah …… had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hope you did too!

Now,  it is time to start decorating for Christmas, of course like some of you, I already started a little ……Ha!

I use to always go shopping on Black Friday but you know what ….. I seem to find some really good bargains before and up to Christmas Day so for the past several years, I use this weekend for decorating ? and eating left overs …… omg ….. what is it about Thanksgiving leftovers …… so yummy the next day!

Of course many of my friends and family still continue the tradition of shopping the day after Thanksgiving and actually all weekend long ….. go girls …… have fun and stop to get a cappuccino for a little pick me up during the day!

You heard me say it before ……  and it’s so true …… I just love this time of year …… it’s definitely winter holiday weather in Texas ….. well,  this weekend, it is actually wet ….. very very ….. very very wet!  But any who, it is warm and toasty inside.

Riley and I were able to go out for a brisk walk yesterday morning in-between the rain and oh yeah, it is sweater time for him!!

I do like my sweater, Woof Woof!
I do like
my sweater,
Woof Woof!

So as we enter into the Christmas holiday season, I wanted to share some old traditions and a few new ones we will be doing this year!

  • Play Christmas music ….. every day! (In the car – really does relieve stress, at work – inspires you to stay happy,  at home – sing along and dance – Riley really likes this one!) How can you not smile when you are listening to Christmas music!
  • Kiss the people you love under the mistletoe, every day!
  • Take a day off for holiday shopping!
  • Snuggle on the couch and watch football!?

I have to make a very special shout out to the Iowa Hawkeyes. They went undefeated this year ….. A Perfect Record 12 – 0 …….. WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWWW!   They are 1st in the West.    On to Indianapolis ……. Great Job!!!

Oh yeah, still no respect ….. Not sure what all they can do besides winning every single game …..but the haters are always haters ……always have some excuse why this team have won all their games …. and the committee …… do not get me started ….. Oh no, I digress for a moment ….

Oh yeah, back to some old traditons, or maybe a new one ………..

  • Drink eggnog!
  • Plan a family outing to visit a skating rink!
  • Create your Advent calendar!
  • Donate to a local food shelter!
  • Pet proof your home for the holidays!

There are so many things we want to put out at this time of year to make a special home for our family and friends and here are a just a few really simple ideas to help protect our furry family members,

  • Cover your tree with a skirt or create one by placing decorating boxes in front of the tree to block the curious ones.
  • Check for fallen pine needles daily.
  • Some items are toxic if ingested such as  holly, poinsettia,  to name just a couple.
  • I am a candle girl, always have them burning ….. all year-long, so I always keep them high enough and out of reach from my little guy.
  • Place your special treasured and expensive ornaments on higher branches.

It is only natural for our furry family members to be curious of all the sparkling, blinking, scented objects that will adorn our homes during the holiday season.  Proper training and prevention will make it a safe and fun holiday season for everyone in the family.

Riley and I send you love, kindness and holiday cheer! We would love to hear from y’all, Woof Woof.??
