Our Beloved Trigger

There are simply no words that can ease the pain of losing one of our 4-legged family members.
I will never forget the day Trigger welcomed us into his life.
So small and beautiful, with markings that every Corgi would be jealous of.
And I will never forget all the times that Trigger visited me and Riley and visa versa! All the wrestling, tuggie-pull matches and oh let’s not forget all the dog park play dates.
Trigger ruled, thats for sure!
And there is one thing that I know and that is that Brett and Katia loved him with all their hearts. Oh, and he loved them back!
Sometimes I think Riley was jealous of all the car rides and Starbuck pup cups that Trigger had. He loved them. Just like he loved sitting out in his back yard surrounded by the pool and always smiling.
Heck, I made Riley stay clear of their pool, for fear he would fall in, but not Trigger. He would walk around the pool like a trapeze artist and was not afraid to jump onto the raft and share it with his mom and dad. (And soon, declaring it for himself!)
The hurt of losing a treasured furry family member never goes away. But I do know that in time the joyful memories of the life you provided to them is what sustains you.
Trigger will always be a part of my heart and soul. And I also know that Riley has greeted Trigger today and they are running around like puppies and once again will always have each other’s back.
My memories and love for Trigger will never fade.
I love you, Trigger.
