Hello y’all!

OMG, Thanksgiving is just days away …….

Now I know that this time of year can be exhausting at times …… it happens to all of us ……

BUT …….. it is also one of the best times ………. It reminds us to Give Thanks!

As we come together this week with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving and kick-off the start of the holiday season,  I thought I would share some ideas over the next few days that might inspire you add something new to your family tradition!

  • Make some pumpkin spice coffee with cinnamon rolls or pumpkin bread for a light breakfast.
  • Make mimosa. Make more mimosa.  Ha!
  • Have everyone write down on a note card something they are thankful for, place the card in a bowl and pass the bowl around at the table and everyone can read one of the cards.
  • Watch a football game on TV, y’all know my favorite team will be playing!!
  • Take a baskets of treats to your neighbor.
  • Have a pie baking contest.
  • Play board games.
  • Take your furry 4-legged buddy out for a nice brisk walk.
  • Draw names for your family Christmas gift exchange.
  • Have everyone bring a can good to take to your local food drive.
  • Eat Thanksgiving dinner by candle light.
  • Take group photos.
  • Try some new fall drinks.

Here are a few of my favorites,

  1. Fireball Cider – 2 ounces Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, 4 ice cubes, 3 ounces apple cider and garnish with apple slices or cubes.
  2. Apple Cider Sangria – 1 bottle pinot grigio, 2 1/2 cups apple cider, 1 cup club soda, 1/2 cup ginger brandy, 3 apples sliced or cubed, 3 pears slice or cubed. Mix all and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
  3. Caramel Apple Martini – 2 parts caramel vodka, 3 parts apple cider, caramel syrup for garnish. Mix together and shake. Pour syrup around rim of glass!
  4. B52 – 1 ounce Kailua, 1 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream, 1 ounce of either Grand Marnier or Cointreau.

There are so many great things to enjoy with family and friends. There are so many reasons to:

  • Be Kind
  • Be Thoughtful
  • Be Genuine

But most of all:

  • Be Thankful

I know for me I am so thankful for my family, my friends and of course my little co-pilot, Riley as we celebrate our first Thanksgiving together.  Today I give thanks to everyone who has been part of my journey ……. and, all the unknown blessings already on their way!

Riley and I send you love and kindness and we’d love to hear from y’all. Woof Woof ??
