Hello y’all.
Oh my ……. does it feel like the holidays where you’re at ………..
Even in Texas …… it’s getting mighty chilly.
Okay, Okay …. it’s not like we have any snow in the DFW area, like so many of you might be experiencing …….. but hey …… it’s quite chilly down here …. and Riley and I just love it!
Oh yeah, he gets to wear his new little jacket ……… (he probably is saying grrrrr …. and I am saying ……. but you look so cute little buddy) And look, I get to bundle up with my Uggs, mittens and overcoat …… what fun! Let’s Go!!!
Another day closer to Thanksgiving Day ….. Gobble Gobble!!
So whether it is cold, snowing or even raining which is what is predicted for us in Texas on Thanksgiving, there are so many fun things to do with family and friends on this special day. Here are some more ideas, I hope you continue old traditions and start some new ones too …….
- If the weather permits, go for a walk. Bundle up the family and of course the furry ones too and even if it’s just a short walk, breathe in the fall crisp (okay maybe cold in some places) air. Especially after that big meal ……. you will feel so invigorated ….. and ready for some more dessert and some spiced coffee!
- Speaking of dessert, we all have our favorites, here are a few of mine …… Pumpkin Bread …… I just can’t get enough of it ……. and yes the traditional Pumpkin Pie with Whip Cream, …… yummy, and how about this one ……. Apple Cider Float, (apple cider, ice cream, caramel topping/sauce, sprinkles of cinnamon) Add a straw and cinnamon stick! So Easy! And of course one of my favorites is still Apple Pie a la mode, so yummy, and of course you might want to pair it with coffee and a little Baily’s …… oh my (see that walk doesn’t sound so bad now)
- Set up a puzzle table and ask everyone to join in throughout the day and watch the competition begin!
- Watch some football …… this is a given …..Ha! ???
- Set up a craft table ….. make Christmas ornaments, okay maybe this is only for the girls ……. but any who ……. (Now, Girls just be sure to put a pitcher of apple cider sangria on the table for sharing, it’s for inspiration!
- Bon Fire, anyone. If allowed this is great and you can make s’mores too!
- Play Thanksgiving Trivia or Bingo. (you can google ahead to print these in advance)
- Tell everyone in advance to bring their favorite slippers and take group pics …..
I just love this time of year, don’t you ….. start each day as if it may be the last ……..
- Give Thanks.
- Begin Each Day With a Smile.
- Count Your Blessings.
- Be Kind.
- Tell Your Family, You Love Them.
- Hug Your Dog/Pet.
The Holidays are an amazing time. We all know it can be stressful so like my mother use to tell me ……. Don’t Get Your Tinsel In A Tangle. Of course I think she also said, Keep Calm and Pour Me Another Glass of Wine, Ha!
So …….
- Stay Positive
- Listen To Music
- Exercise
- Keep Faith
- Believe
Riley and I send you love and kindness with Sprinkles!
We’d love to hear from y’all, Woof Woof. ??
