Easy Like Sunday Morning

Easy Like Sunday Morning

I am endlessly thankful for all life’s blessings.
Last night we officially ushered in the holiday season. Wine, dinner and the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree. We bundled up, drank hot chocolate and went for a horse and carriage ride. Oh my, what fun!
Blessings come in many different ways.
And so far our winter season here in Texas has been darn near perfect. Chilly temps with a little sunshine brings a whole different kind of energy and anticipation.
As I sat outside last night listening to the Christmas music and watching everyone gathering around for the countdown it was time for ruminating; past and present. I miss my parents so deeply and yet I know they are happy with the person I have become.
Today is most definitely different than it was and I am totally looking forward to the future. Seen a lot, done a lot and not stopping anytime soon!
So yeah, I spent the past couple of days decorating our main Christmas tree and Riley’s new one. The outside house lights have officially made their debut and brought tears to my eyes as I drove up to our home last night.
I also know that this time of year, not all will view life through the lens of blessings. For many, loss of love ones, sickness or other tragedies have affected their lives this year.
Which is why for many this time of year will cause sadness. And why I find it so vital to count each day as a blessing.
Don’t look at gifts you might not be able to afford or places you might not visit …… take time to remember who you are!
There is a spiritual force inside of me (you)!
I turn up the Christmas music, watch a funny movie, take Riley for a walk, breathe in the fresh air, sip hot coffee in quiet contemplation, oh the list goes on and on and on. My mode is stuck on ‘Blessed’!
As Thanksgiving day approaches, I am filled with so much joy and happiness and look forward to new traditions. I know that each new day is a gift. I want to relish in it, evolve and reflect with my eyes wide open.
I am a gift, (you are a gift) ……
and
I thank God for all that has been given to me.
Easy Like Sunday Morning!
