Did you know …… people that prepare early are seen to be more personable. Christmas decorating is so nostalgically soothing. It links us to our past and greater understanding of who we are. And yes, our past have memories of people who are no longer here and yet for me and many they remain in our hearts forever.
I miss momma and papa everyday and yet Christmas time brings me close to them.
And decorating early does not diminish my feelings at Thanksgiving. It actually amplifies it!
Thanksgiving will be with family and more importantly my mother’s recipe for stuffing.
Thanksgiving remains so special and my Christmas decor does not change that!

I know for some, as soon as Halloween is over, we got our thinking and planning mode set and slowly moving forward. As it inches closer to Christmas, the dial moves continuously and wham, the weekend before Thanksgiving is here …… oh yeah,  alarm has sounded and I have gone from thinking and planning to full-tilt action mode.
Hey, I warned you!
If walking into the grocery store in November and hearing Christmas music bugs you …… well let’s just say, we come from different tribes! Ha.
I listen to music everyday and it did surprise me that a couple of Christmas songs were already in the mix, but hey it just made me sing and dance a little more! (If that’s even possible).

Remember – decorations are just decorations. But they are the anchor and pathway to the season and evoke childhood and life memories.
I most certainly have the free will to cherish those memories and show just how thankful
I am, to be here Now!
I hope I never forget them, all while creating new ones!
For me, there is no reason to hold back from the chance of pulling out those boxes and creating new memories, stat!
We can alter our life …… by altering our attitude.
Boom!
Or in this instance;
FA
LA
LA
LA
LA
So hey, some experts think it is so okay to put your tree up now, in the name of happiness!
And I believe!
Some of you may look at the idea of decorating as daunting and exhausting. And yes I am retired now but even when I was working full time and at times traveling for work, I always felt that as soon as I could bring out some Christmas decor boxes and imagine what theme I would choose, yep that feeling of happiness arrived!
Oh I remember the wonderful feeling coming home from work and knowing that for the next several hours the joy and happiness that the Christmas decor gave me was priceless. It brought me even closer to taking a step back, reset, relax and most definitely giving thanks.
It also made the preparation for the upcoming Thanksgiving Day easier.
Why yes, Gobble Gobble until I Wobble is at the top of the agenda!
So what are you waiting for ……
Queue up some music and start decorating!
Fa, la la, la la Friday!

Co-Pilot, Riley
