Feed your Spirit Friday – January

Feed your Spirit Friday!

A couple more days I whispered to Riley this morning.
The winds are a blowing, the temps will not get above freezing but the magnificent sun is out and streaming through the windows. I stepped outside for a few minutes (more like seconds), and I recoiled back inside;  I was reminded to count my blessings.
The faucets are dripping and I am so thankful we have a home where we can be sheltered from these frigid temps.
You know during my prayer time this morning the thought that came to me is that I know at times I (we) feel that we may not be ready for what’s about to happen. And then I walk out into Faith. And I am reminded who brought me here. And who is with me, always.

We live in a body (flesh). We are a spirit (breath of God). We have a soul (life).
Our soul = our mind, our will and our emotions.
It’s with our soul that our mind processes information.
Our mind processes information, it’s our emotions that shows how we  feel about them and yep, our will makes decisions to engage in them.
Whoa!
Told you …… my prayer time brings some pretty amazing perspectives.
We all face so many temptations from the evil one. He will do whatever he can to feed our flesh and comfort our souls.
As simple as tempting us to eat the wrong food to pride, judgement, gossip and selfishness. All things used to feed our physical and emotional comfort.
Oh there might be some temporary comfort although it’s temporary and then we continue to long for more.
Hey we all can fall into the devil’s trap.
But God doesn’t leave us alone. He has given us His Holy Spirit to stand up to temptation.
And I am not saying that my morning prayer time or reading my bible will exclude me from the nature of temptations.
We are all bombarded with them.
But with the Holy Spirit inside, I have learned to listen.
I will admit that there have been times when one verse in the bible may be stirring something inside of me for a couple of days. The important thing for me is that I find my spirit and I most definitely feed my soul from His word.
And there is nothing more than I want, but to walk in His love, joy and peace in my  life’s journey.
Feed your Spirit, it will satisfy your Soul.
Stay well, Say safe.
Namasté.
