Get Organized…..really………. Am I going to talk about getting organized and how that is an Adventure………You bet…..keep reading.
Make everything you do an adventure. Now, c’mon everyone…..I am sure there is something that needs organizing in your home, yard, office, life……And you know what….cleaning out, cleaning up, decluttering……..can be a real adventure and it’s good for your soul! Sometimes you actually forget what you have. Make it an adventure, organize your Life! Here are some simple ideas to get organized and warm your soul too;
- Start off by writing down a goal. (You may not be able to organize your entire house today) And that’s okay. Do one room or space and stick to it.
- Recycle. (Take a trip to your local recycle center)
- Donate It. (This is guaranteed to warm your soul)
- Find a place for everything. (Use bins or boxes, label them)
- Shred It.
- Organize a garage sale with your neighbors, church or friends.
Okay Okay, some of you might be saying…..It’s Saturday and I need a break…..and cleaning, organizing, decluttering however you label it, (label it HaHa) is just not what I was planning for today. Well, you know what, grab your wife, husband, partner, kids……and take an hour……. or two …….. Organize your house, a room, the garage, your life. Yes, your Life! Make it a family adventure! Boy does that make your soul warm.
- Sort through one drawer in the kitchen, go ahead tackle two.
- Toss old cleaning supplies.
- Go through your jewelry, shoes, scarfs, ties……..when’s the last time you used them. (Put them in your donation bag. Warm someone’s soul)
- How about those DVD’s, CD’s…..when is the last time you used them….
- Make-up…..yes, girls…….keep your favorite, toss the rest.
- Toss old doggie toys. (Riley doesn’t really like this one)
Now Get Up, Get Moving, Get Organized! Make it an adventure for your family. Take some time to organize and declutter your life today. You will be amazed how much you can do in a couple of hours. I know for me it really does warm my soul. Hey sometimes my soul is so happy that I even dance in front of the mirror and celebrate afterwards.
And you know what, there is still time to continue your adventure, after all, it is Saturday. Load up the kiddos – drop off your donation. Take your dog for a ride-along. I know for me taking my little co-pilot, Riley the Scottie, for a walk, watching a little football (Go Hawks!), calling my sister just to tell her how much I love her and Oh yeah…..my refrigerator is now so organized…..that my adventure includes adding another bottle of wine or maybe two!
And if you’re in the DFW area whether you live here or are visiting……..go to the State Fair of Texas. Now we’re talking Adventure!!! Plus those corny dogs will warm your soul!
