Good morning y’all!!

No,  it is not too early to talk about the holidays ……. and,  of course getting your home tidy will help you enjoy the holidays even more.

Hey Thanksgiving is in 3 weeks ……. can you believe it!  And Christmas soon after …… yippeee!!

So today I wanted to share some helpful tips to get tidy and organized.

Don’t procrastinate ……. start doing little things now and before you know it …… you home will be tidy and you will be ready to enjoy the holidays!

Now one of the first things to remember is that you can start with some basic things like walking through each room and start removing some of the clutter. Donate items, remove dead plants, or simply put things away in containers and out of sight

Clean area rugs, replace if needed. Remember tis the season for boots ….. wet ones too,  so be sure you think about your entry way. I always get my boot tray out this time of year.

Go through coat closets and make space for family and friends, tis the season for coats, jackets etc.  Donate or store items that you are not going to be wearing. Be sure to have some extra hangers.

Go through your medicine cabinets and drawers in the bathrooms. Clean or replace shower curtains. Clean or replace bath mats. Take inventory of bath and hand towels. Stock up on bath essentials. (soaps, shampoos, TP, lotion)

Replace light bulbs. Have extra blankets and bed pillows readily available.

Clean or vacuum furniture, decorative pillows and throws.

Clean or replace pet bed linens and toys.

Get rid of all old magazines, papers, get caught up on shredding.

If you don’t already use extra bins or baskets start using them to store toys at the end of the day.

Start making your holiday lists:

  • Favorite recipes
  • Meal planning, breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Gift ideas/gift list; family, friends, school, work, neighbors
  • Party planning, ideas, invites, decorations
  • Family holiday activities

Start your lists and keep them on a bulletin board, refrigerator, iPad, something that you can simply update as things come up and are completed! (you may think it’s too early …. trust me, you will be glad later)

The holiday season is upon us and it can get a little or a lot hectic for most of us. And exhausting ……. at times.

There are so many small tidy tips to start now so you can enjoy the time with family and friends later.

Make it a great day!
