HO HO HO, It’s National Sangria Day!

December

HO HO HO y’all!

Sunday is such a great day and especially when it is National Sangria Day!

And Oh My …… Christmas is almost here.

Of course I want to share my favorite Christmas Sangria recipe with you but before we get to that …… since Christmas is less than a week away I also wanted to share some tips and ideas to get you ready for holiday house guests …….

  • Stock your bar (surprise them with a picture of Sangria one night)
  • Have some fresh flowers or holiday plants especially in the guest room for your overnight guests
  • Candles are a nice touch in the guest room and bath room too
  • Be sure to have room for shoes, boots, coats (Ask guest to bring their own slippers or possibly have some available for them)
  • Be sure to have extra towels, blankets
  • Have extra toiletries available, extra tooth brushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, lotion, q-tips, etc. (you can stock up on mini bottles) and (be sure there is a bathroom plunger in the guest bathroom)
  • Create your grocery list, stock up on some of their favorites
  • Be sure you have extra hangers or drawer space for guests clothes and ample space to store their luggage
  • It’s always nice to fill a little basket of bottle water, snacks, chocolates and have some reading material such as magazines, books in the guest room

Christmas with family is so much fun! Don’t let it get you stressed out. Here are some tips to help you enjoy this special time of the year ……when you may think you will not survive it  …….. ???

  • Use paper products such as paper plates, cups, napkins. You may not want to use paper plates for your main Christmas dinner but for every thing else, why not …. you don’t need to spend all your time cleaning dishes!
  • Keep some carpet cleaner handy ….. someone will probably spill something …. it happens …..a little carpet cleaner a clean towel and wha la ….. no stress!
  • Play family games, board games, video games, shoot some pool, play some cards!
  • Go for a walk, take your 4-legged family members too!??
  • Make a snowman if you can!⛄️
  • Take some funny family photos!
  • Play Christmas music throughout the house! ?
  • Relax, Enjoy, Have Fun ……. Relax, Enjoy, Have Fun!

What could be better than to end the weekend sharing a pitcher of Sangria …… we started the weekend baking cookies and will end it with Sangria and probably a few cookies too, Ha!

Here is one of the many Christmas Sangria recipes that I just love!

  • 1 bottle of red wine (you can also use white wine)
  • 2 granny smith apples thinly sliced
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 1/2 cup brandy, rum or vodka
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1 lime sliced
  • 1 bag of mixed frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries)
  • 1 – 2 cups Sprite
  • candy canes for stir sticks

Mix all ingredients into pitcher, serve over ice and enjoy!  Ahhhhh what stress …… You may need to make a second batch so just be sure you have extra!!

Riley and I wish you a very special Sunday and we send you love and kindness and we’d love to hear from y’all, Woof Woof. ??
