It’s Friday, Shine On Baby

Hey y’all, it’s Friday, Shine On!

Don’t hold back …… be grateful, give thanks and don’t hold it back.

Sometimes at the end of the week, it’s easy to feel tired and even a little weak, (And I am not blaming it on the 4 large bags of mulch I laid out yesterday, like real large) because it sure does look purty!

I am talking about sometimes when it feels like the calm in life just took a turn down chaos lane and you don’t remember turning the wheel.  You wake up and keep pushing that darn button, you read your ‘to-do’ list and don’t seem to understand or want any of it.

Oh, we all have those days ……

No one in the entire house can feed themselves as you make breakfast, lunch and oh yeah, get dressed for your important meeting with your boss today …… ugh – why me ……

The dealership called and ‘your car will take a little longer m’am because there seems to be a few more things that need fixin then we originally thought’, ugh – why me ……

Oh great, we ran out of dog food, please forgive me baby, it’s bread and cheese this morning …… (but momma loves you), ugh – why me ……

You walk into the office and before you hit your desk, there is a line of people ready with their problems, that are actually now yours, ugh – why me ……

Calm can turn into an erupting volcano …… in a flash and in many cases without warning. The storms of life can sometimes feel demonic.

Life has many sides …… many and hopefully most are beautiful and magical, and yet, ‘real’ life will have it’s chaos …… death and destruction are unfortunately part of life.

Which of course brings me to my faith-driven life, and promises that I know are true in the name of Jesus.

Oh, there have been times in the past when my words and actions did not represent my faith …… at all.

As I have said before, I am a work in progress …… this I will never deny.

But, I know now that every day I strive to live my life in peace vs panic. I strive to create calm and not chaos. Oh yes, Jesus has changed the trajectory of my life.

My attitude and my views about people, places, things and yep everything is now based on the best teacher, God.

So yeah, life will throw me some twists and curves …… yet my light will shine bright no matter how dark it gets. Jesus knows how I feel.

We have all been there …… we got more work to do then is humanly possible, your family will not listen to you, our employees ask the same questions over and over, you got more requests than results, and oh yeah …… of course it’s raining again.

In all this, Jesus knows how you feel.

We are precious to him. He knows how we feel.

He has made me new.

And I owe it all to him.

Shine on today baby, you are precious!

Blessings from our home to yours.
