Joie de Vivre

Joie de Vivre

Oh yes, it’s on repeat!
Our morning walk might have taken a smidge longer since the humidity is quite high and Riley after all; is a black dog. So we stop under the trees for a little shade break, all good here.
Nice to see the sun coming out some too.
But as we round the corner and make it home, ahhhh so nice to feel some air conditioning, for sure. Back to sitting by my newest favorite perch inside by the patio window.
What is it about a fresh cut lawn – heck I got the feeling I want to go roll around on it!  Thank goodness for privacy fences, Ha!
Joie de Vivre!
Running all through me and Riley too.
Well, Riley has actually started his afternoon siesta, he is one smart Scottie.
Nothing better than looking out the window, Riley laying nearby and I can see the birds and butterflies enjoying the day too.
Call me traditional with a splash contemporary.
It’s all in the balance, isn’t it.
You know I believe our home environment is intrinsically connected to our mental health. No one wants to be surrounded by clutter and dust and a super minimalist environment can have the same effect as an over stimulating space.
And it doesn’t matter the size. I have lived in large home, small homes and apartments alike.
🏡
It’s the current space that matters.
Each year seems to get better. The yard is healthy and is showing off a bit! As I continue to experiment in my flower beds, they seem to return the love.
May I always have the opportunity to sit at my window perch and admire the beauty all around. And with each season telling its own story, I will never grow tired of watching their uniqueness. We are so similar to nature.
The trees, the flowers and plants. They tell a new story with each new season. We can too.
In fact we should.
It’s can be too easy and yet painful and most definitely negative and unnecessary to let the past define who we are. Heck, I am different today than just 24 hours ago. Yesterday was a great day, but I want different for today.
It’s the same thing we all have heard before; ‘if I could go back and change the events or how I reacted to them, things would be different’.
I don’t want to go back and change any of it. That would be so disrespectful. To God and to me.
Of course I wish we didn’t have painful and sad moments in our lives, but we will. And when we meet someone new and hear their stories of pain and suffering we are reminded just how precious life is.
No one is exempt from casualties of life, unfortunately.
And yet, I know that there is so much to living then spending it on the ‘hamster wheel’ of life.
And anyone can get caught on it, working long hours whether you are in an office or from home, stay at home moms, students and yes even in retirement.
Equal attention is needed for all that we have in our lives. That is what provides the good energy we all need. Or we become out-of-balance. You know, like even the hamster wheel needs a little oil and down time!
It will become easier to get that balance once you start practicing. And soon, you don’t really have to think too much about it, it becomes the way you live.
It’s all about the balance.
So Nourish –  so you can nourish.
Thats what provides my
Joie de Vivre
Namasté.

Co-pilot, Riley
