Monday Morning Glory
‘I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again’ F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Oh, I know, it is sometimes hard to take a look inside and see what you created for yourself. But I also learned that it must be done and only by one’s self.
And yes, I believe it must start with a sense of God’s deep unconditional love, and a strong sense of your own purpose.
Oh yeah, and it’s not easy.
I remember when there was a time that I did not know my purpose. Oh but I thought I did. I use to think; working hard, climbing the corporate ladder, having executives applaud my performance, living in a big house, driving expensive cars, wearing the latest trends, oh the list goes on & on & on, you get the picture …… was my purpose.
Because in this crazy world of ‘never enough’ and ‘competition’ we don’t even realize that we may be giving up on our own purpose to fulfill smaller insignificant or maybe even someone else’s purposes.
Most of us want to please people. And yet, I have learned that my relationships have grown when there is open and honest conversations about what I can and cannot do.
People who don’t care much about what people think about them, don’t generally struggle with disappointing people.
BooYah!
Now, I won’t tell you how long it took me to figure that out but all I can say is,
Thank you God!
Of course I have said it before, I am a work in progress. I have so much more to witness and learn. And what I am learning is that it’s never too late to find your purpose. It’s a new year and I am renewed!
It’s so fitting that our church has started a new series and it is all about RE.
