My April Hope
—————
This April is most definitely not the one I/we had hoped for.
This crisis is not what we wanted or expected, but it is what we have been given.
Each day for what seems like a very long time, we wake up to news of more death and despair. This health crisis affects all of us. Our cities have shut down. The earth’s vibration has slowed. And reality has knocked our doors down …… We are mighty and strong and yet we are reminded that we are not in control. But, we are in control of how we react. The stillness that surrounds me, reminds me that their is hope, their is love and their is peace even during one of the biggest storms of this generation.
As we enter into Holy week, my hope and surrender to Jesus has taken on a whole new perspective. I am determined more than ever to allow His love, grace and peace to consume me & lift me up …… yes, even when it feels like I am being pulled down.
I remember my mom always looking up at the skies filled with stars at night, I remember my mom tending to her garden, I remember my mom reading her bible everyday, I remember my mom’s face, her smell, her walk and her smile. I remember how fragile this life really is.
I remember there is always ……HOPE.
And yet, no matter where we are this April, our equilibrium feels off.
As we have all heard, this virus affects young and old and doesn’t care where you live. And for many; social distancing is a very hard concept. It’s April …… we are suppose to be attending or watching the Masters, hanging out at spring-break events, scheduling Easter day celebrations with family and friends and so so many other things that have become part of our lives in April.
And this April is about social distancing. It’s about caring for each other and doing our part of trying to reduce the already impossible demands of our health care workers and essential-need employees. It’s about their health and wellness. It’s about doing your part.
So this April ……
I will remember to look up to the blue skies and stars each morning and night, I will remember to tend to my garden, I will remember to read my bible every day, I will remember the beauty in my own face, I will remember to smile often and I will remember to let Jesus fill my heart and soul with love, peace and hope.
We are never in control of things that come along to change us, but we are in control of whether we chose to change.
My April Hope For You.
Peace be with you.
