Hi y’all!!

OMG ……. it really is National Cocoa Day!

Not that I need a national holiday as an excuse to make some hot cocoa, Ha!

What it is about the Christmas holidays and hot cocoa …… they just seem to go together.

I thought I would share some of my favorite hot cocoa tips ……..  some are for adults only and of course a couple that are perfect for everyone in the family!

One of my all time favorites to add a little spice to my hot cocoa is a shot of Fireball. The special blend of cinnamon in this whiskey is so perfect! You can also add some crushed red-hot sprinkles to top off the whip cream or marshmallows.

I even make “Hot Chocolate in a Jar” as gifts, here’s one I created this year!

Have you ever tried adding a little Baily’s Irish Cream to your hot cocoa …… oh my …. it is so yummy. Just add 1 – 1.5 oz. per cup …… you will not believe you have lived without it!

How about a little Kahlua ….. just add a splash to your hot cocoa …… prop your feet up and enjoy!

Add a little peppermint schnapps to your hot cocoa …….Oh yeah …… you will go back for seconds!

Now if you really want to add some pop to your hot cocoa ……. add both Kahlua and Peppermint schnapps  or Tequila and peppermint schnapps. This is really the best for those cozy nights when you are chillin with your best friend, partner, lover …… you get the idea!

Now if you want to spice up your hot cocoa for the entire family try taking some Oreo cookies cut/broken into pieces. After you have topped off the hot cocoa with whip cream, sprinkle the Oreo cookies on top ….. they will love you!!

There are endless toppings you can add to your hot cocoa to make it even more special for your family,

• Marshmallows
• Crushed up candy bars – Butter Fingers, Almond Joy just to name a couple
• Chocolate chips or white chocolate chips
• Candy canes ( I also love using candy canes as stir sticks) So Cute!!
• Cinnamon Sprinkles or cinnamon sticks as stir sticks
• Crushed up graham crackers
• Caramel sauce, drip over the rip of the cup too!
