Momma, I love you.
❤️
I miss you so much. And even though you are with our Father in heaven, we continue to have our daily conversations.
Thank you, God.
Growing up with a mother who gave me constant praise and motivation and who held a deep relationship with God taught me to believe in myself.
She held me, dressed me, nurtured me, yelled at me and kissed me; but more importantly, she gave me unconditional love, always always. Even at times when I did not deserve it.
During my journey of life growing up, she always left the light on for me. Oh it came from within her so bright that it filled me with overwhelming love and respect for her.
If you are one of the lucky ones like me, you have the kind of mother who has the magical touch of healing in so many ways; the gentleness of her voice, the warm embrace of her arms around you, the smile on her face that tells you everything will be okay, (and you believe it), to all the unspoken ways you feel her unfailing love for you; her child.
Oh yeah, my mother was an angel here on earth.
❤️
She became a widow way too early, left with daughters to raise on her own, and she did it! Was it easy, heck no, did she complain, no way …… she was a woman of faith.
We had so many fun times …… she was always willing to try a new adventure. Volleyball and frisbee at the beach, hopping on the back of a motorcycle, bowling …… and with a ball that weighed almost as much as she did, and of course her favorite; spending time with her family. She loved cooking for us and was even willing to try out some new drinks with us!
Of course, those ‘Long Island Ice Teas’ may have snuck up on her more than once, teehee. You see, the apple does not fall too far from the tree …… thank goodness!
There are not enough words that will describe how important my mother was to me and what a powerful influence she still is today. I know that my mother shaped me into the person I am today and I am proud of it.
I love you momma.
