Rainy Day – January
Oh there is nothing like a rainy day in January to get lost in books, tea and of course snuggle time with Riley.
I was filled with anticipation for rain to appear. Plenty of time for Riley to chase a few squirrels this morning before the drops were upon us.
Something about having a dimly lit lamp and some candles glowing in the house. The rain isn’t an all day event and the wind should push out the clouds so we might even see a little sun later. But hang on to your weaves because it will be a blowing!

Yesterday was such a heart pumping day of football. The Cowboys won and the Eagles lost …… January Joy!
At least my heart has some time to calm down before the games next weekend. I’m trying to have a ‘dry’ January but my o my, it’s not easy.
Since the Boys were playing so good I could sit down and relax some during the 4th quarter, and Riley on my lap helped.
This month in addition to refreshing and reorganizing, I have also dedicated it to reading. I’ve been checking out books online and love that through Kindle you have the option to sample them. It’s quite addictive.
I do remember a time when I would purchase hardback books. I still love buying some but do most of my purchases through Kindle. Better for the environment, so easy to read and does not contribute to clutter. Although, I never really think of books as clutter because not only are they pretty to look at, they provide so much comfort and joy to my life.
And yes, I reread many of them. It may be years in between; which changes the depth and meaning they bring to me.
Kinda like rewatching your favorite movie but it allows me time to savor some parts slowly and over time.
Yep, I am definitely a book gurl!
The best present …… Books!

And on a winter rainy day …… Boom!
And as you know, I have many different reading nooks in our home, inside and even out on the patio; weather permitting. But this morning by the windows watching and hearing the rain drops, me and Riley in our matching chairs, my feet propped up and feeling so thankful.
I thank God for my life.
I thank my momma for the love of reading.
Rainy Day – January,
Thank you!
