Sunday Post
Brrrrrrr
Our early morning walk was covered in quite colder temps and wind that could almost topple me over. I believe Alexa was a little off her game this morning, she told me it was 62 …… well it most definitely is NOT!
The winter blast has arrived.
Now instead of going on our normal quick early morning walk, we did a couple extra laps. Might as well because Eddie parades down the street impervious to the temps. The past couple of mornings we have enjoyed strolling by the ponds since we usually are the only ones up. And sometimes the ducks have already started their water dance.
But not today, the only thing moving out there are the leaves skipping along as if trying to escape the cold too!
It’s Sunday …… and Sunday still remains one of my favorite days, even in retirement.
It’s a reminder to take it a little slower, make some memories and savor the day.
A little football watching, some winter time cooking and probably a little nap.
TBT, we snuggled in for a little afternoon nap yesterday, well 60 minutes worth and that was lovely.
I see some home made chicken and vegetables soup in my near future. It may not be what one thinks for football watching but my football snacks may just need to wait another week.
Of course I am still enjoying my pumpkin spice bread. I don’t have a slice everyday but something tells me today with my afternoon cup of hot tea is a must!
Wintering, hibernating and eating …… all some of my favorite things!
It’s ironic that this ‘love summer time’ girl gets wintering too.
Wintering for us in Texas is quite different than for some but mostly so enjoyable. I still need to bundle up in layers, (heck, I bundle up in 60 degress) because that wind always seems to be around.
And since the forecast is expected to reach or should I say not reach 40 for several days, my heavy coat, Ugg boots, hat and gloves are all part of my OTTD!
I dig it!
Today is the day to leave the past …… well in the past.
It might take an extra cup of courage to go outside for walks this week and that’s exactly why I trust God to lead the way.
So the thing to remember while Wintering is that there is always a past, present and future. I already said goodbye to my past. I am savoring the present and I look forward to the future by spreading my wings by leaps and bounds, with Eddie by side as we soar into the next chapter of our journey, under the sun and stars with an abundance of love and gratitude to God.
Wow, what a beautiful Sunday morning that is unfolding.
➕
And the sun has appeared, if only for a few hours …… it might be saying a quick good morning and don’t worry …… I’ll be back!
So as this morning continues, a second cup of coffee and how about a nice healthy breakfast.
Oh yes, it’s a must!
I hope you enjoy this day. I hope you make some new memories and savor the moments.
And come back soon, because we will continue to take flight.
I am starting to get the signs from Eddie that he is all buckled in and ready for lift off.
So this pilot and her co-pilot see a smooth ride for us today.
Be safe out there and spread love and kindness.
Namasté.
