Hi y’all.
And yes, it is Tidy Thursday y’all!
Now for all you naysayers …. read on….. it really is easy to get your home tidy and keep it that way and you will feel so happy ……really!
Okay I am not saying your home has to be perfect …. nothing really is ….. but tidy ….. oh yeah …. it will make you do the happy dance for sure!
- Make your bed every day. (It’s usually one of the largest things in your bedroom and will instantly make it feel tidy)
- Do not leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight. (If you make this a family affair, it will take 15 minutes or less to wash and put away the dishes or if you have a dishwasher, run it right before going to bed)
- Empty the dishwasher each morning. (It’s so easy and fast to empty while you are waiting for the morning coffee to brew or feeding your furry family members)
- If you have a home office or work area, be sure to set up filing system that works for everyone in the family. (Sort and file mail when you bring it in)
- Have a place where everyone can put their keys, shoes and coats. (Finally no more lost keys!)
- Do not leave piles of clothes in your bathroom, hang clothes immediately, fold and put them in their drawers. (Fold all clothes in your drawers, yes, even your panty drawer. You will be shocked how pretty and organized they will look, they even have drawer organizers that work really well too)
- Take clothes out of the dryer, fold and put away immediately.
- Wipe down countertops and sinks daily.
- Use storage containers/baskets. (This is a great way to corral stuff like books, magazines, remotes, toys, throws, shoes …. you get the picture)
- Always put things back. (It only takes seconds to put things back in their place like hair dryers, makeup in the bathroom and shoes and bags in the closet)
- And in the kitchen clean up and put things back as you are cooking. (Makes clean up so easy peasy)
One of the easiest ways to get your place Tidy is by creating a Tidy Schedule ….. do this and before you know it ….. you won’t remember a time you lived without it! Here’s a short example to get you started …….
