Tuesday Tidings, December 12th.
Hey, there are so many different ways to celebrate this season. All around the globe, this is a special time of year!
Christmas – celebrated on December 25th. In Spanish-speaking countries Christmas is called, La Navidad. It celebrates the birth of Jesus. Christmas remains one of the most universal holidays. From Christmas trees, lights all around, baking and family and friends get togethers, while celebrating new and honoring old traditions.

Hanukkah – The Jewish festival of lights and is a time of family, blessings and dreidel games. These significant and customs associated with Hanukkah embodies the elements of Jewish cultural heritage. And of course the making and eating latkes and sufganiyot (jelly donuts).

Kawanzza– a week-long celebration that focuses on community, African heritage and culture. It’s from December 26 to January 1st. The making of mkeka (mat) or kinara (candle holder) and gathering for a meal on the last day.

There are many others celebrations around the globe. One thing for sure is that their unique and distinct traditions become so evident that while celebrations might geographical and cultural vary, their underlying theme of joy, gratitude and togetherness remains universal.
