When the day starts off with a pair of dark brown eyes and a wet little nose at your face …… well you know it’s gonna be a great day.
I had not seen our morning cardinals for quite a few weeks. And who can blame them. When you wake up and the outside temps are still in the 80’s …… (yep, Texas summers are just plain Hot Hot Hot) even the birds just want to hang out by a lake or pond and who can blame them.
But this morning, we decided to sit outside with our morning coffee and guess who came for a visit ……
Perfect timing as usual.
He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge. (Psalms 91.4)
Stillness & Simplicity
Two of the best actions to take.
HA, you may be thinking …… that is a typo.
Oh but the power of Stillness & Simplicity.
We all have a rhythm to our lives. No matter what season we are in. It’s important to know your rhythm; feel it, smell it and cherish it.
Life is such a blessing for sure.
And I thought life in Texas got a whole lot better last year, when one of my sisters moved here
but
just wait ……
soon another sister will be making Texas her home. The count down has started!
And my morning happy dance has a whole new meaning today!!
And then as I stepped out my front door this morning; a feather. Just one single feather.
Of course there are many different birds in our neighborhood, yet this morning there was one single feather at my doorstep.
Many think that if you see or believe in signs you have little or no faith. I am not one of those.
I know that God has made life possible. Jesus Christ is in me. He is not just part of my spirit but He is in my heart and is part of my soul.
Oh, and He sends me signs, this I know.
Like the sunrise that I get to witness each day with my sweet little Riley, to the beautiful flowers and lemon trees that are blooming despite the hot days of summer, to the gentle tug at my heart some days that bring tears to my eyes; just because.
The signs are everywhere. The gentle paw that wakes me up, the voices of my sweet sisters and yes the single feather at my front door.
I believe God will always send me signs. Many will say it’s just ‘good luck’.
I choose to believe that God communicates in many different ways, and always has. And yes there were and still are times when I am not listening. But with stillness and simplicity …… I see, feel and hear His guidance.
Step outside and breathe in ……
Look up ……
Not a day goes by He does not metaphorically remind us of what He did for us.
Signs
He is with me (and-you) all the time, this I never doubt. I know He sends me signs and I know that if something makes me think it’s a sign from Him …… He is happy!
Sisters growing up in Iowa together, getting older in Texas together ……
Oh I believe in signs.
Blessings from our home to yours.
