Woof Woof Wednesday ??

December

Hi y’all!

I really want to say HO HO HO ……. but since it is Woof Woof Wednesday ……. Riley wanted me to say Happy Howl – i days ……………Woof Woof!

Of course he believes in Santa Paws ??

Now I know that everyone thinks they have the perfect dog ……. and you do!   As for me, I have said it before and will say it again ……. I have been truly blessed that this little bundle of fur has joined my family.

Riley is such a gentle soul. He watched while the tree and decorations were being put up,  and of course he walked up to everything just to check it out.  I think he enjoys looking at the tree just as much as we do! Other than the occasionally sniff, he does not show any interest in eating or playing with any of it.

And of course I have heard from friends about coming home from work and they realized that their tree seemed a little less decorated,  oh yeah,  missing ornaments, garland, candy canes  and yes I even had one friend call me last week to say,  that just as they had finished putting up their tree and were standing back admiring it …… you guessed it ….. their 4-legged bundle of joy actually baptized the tree …..right in front of them. Thank goodness she is such a sweetheart because she said that all she could do was laugh. Well,  I have to admit …… I could not stop laughing as she was telling me the story, and I tried to convince her that  I am sure Eddie is not the first dog to ever do this …….

She asked me if Riley has gotten into any of the Christmas decorations  or ornaments …… and when I told her that he really doesn’t show any interest in eating any of the ornaments, I don’t think she believed me ……..Ha!

I am telling you …… he is the perfect little Scottie. He loves to go to the dog park, he loves to play catch, he loves to play hide and seek and he loves when we go for our walks, he loves getting a bath, he loves his doggie biscuits, he loves hanging out with his best friend, Trigger and he loves to cuddle.

So yeah, maybe I am one of those crazy girls who loves her dog so much that some people may never understand it but I’m okay with that because Riley knows it!

Now just because I think he is an exceptional little dog there are still some rules I like to follow because as I said before …… all the sparkling, smelly objects that fill our homes this month ……. it is up to us to protect our pets.

  • If you have a real tree, be sure to pick up fallen needles daily
  • Be sure lights are out of range and can not easily be chewed or pulled at
  • Same thing with extension cords
  • Be sure candles are far from reach
  • Chocolate is dangerous if ingested, please be sure it is not left within paw range
  • Tinsel, Ribbon and Garland can easily become stuck in their intestine if ingested
  • Be sure your tree is secure/anchored so it can not be pulled over
  • If you have a live tree, be sure your pet can not get to the water at the base

I hope you are having fun by filling your home with family and friends and love! Make hot cocoa with marshmallows, cuddle with your spouse or partner. Read a Christmas story to you children, watch Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.

Riley and I send you love and kindness and we’d love to hear from y’all, Woof Woof. ??
