Yúgen Friday!
Before I get into today, I must say that yesterday was a super special day in our house. Riley turned 8. Before he gobbled up his birthday cupcake, he of course had to listen to us singing Happy Birthday to him. And he posed with his birthday hat on (not that he really like that part) but he sure is a handsome young boy!
And when his birthday toy arrived, love at first sight,
which is probably another reason it’s
Yúgen Friday!
There are so many beautiful moments in our day. I have learned to savor them all. The coffee taste so good when the morning is early and the universe is dark and still. Plenty of sunshine on tap and the normal busyness of the day is looked upon with thanks and gratitude.
And then …… yep, you guessed it …… the beginning of a perfect evening, a little patio time under the lights and stars and the perfect moments of reflection.
Life is really special.
And I know that this moment and this day is my life. I will embrace it all because tomorrow (the future) is never promised.
Plus, I have always placed self-belief above anyone’s criticizing ways.
Before retirement, I had no formal education, no high power connections and yet I was able to work my way up the corporate ladder and make solid contributions to others and most definitely to myself. And I developed some lifelong friendships along the way!
Of course I like the routines of life. But I place embracing change as a character trait that is needed just as much. Change forces me to hit the re-set button.
It reminds me to remember what is important to me. Time moves on whether we honor our dreams or not. Self-care allows you to live for yourself. And contrary to what might be popular- self care honors you.
A life one desires – now that’s where the magic happens!
Beauty is not always about what is seen, it’s about the unseen.
Now, right now is the youngest I will ever be – I am appreciating it all!
Yúgen Friday!
Namasté.
Dear God, thank you for never leaving my side. We have lots more to do together on this heavenly earth. Amen.
